ASHRAE AWARDS PROGRAM
Each year ASHRAE confers honours and awards to acknowledge the contribution made by chapters, regions, committees, or individual ASHRAE members. The following is a summary of the various categories, the awards available, and how to nominate.

NOMINATIONS
1) Personal Honours and
2) Personal Awards for General Society Must include a letter of nomination from a sponsor (Chapter, Region, Committee or individual ASHRAE member)
3) Personal Awards for Specific Society Activities
and
4) Society Awards to Groups or Chapter Made by the committee that sponsors the award
5) Paper Awards Made by the Honours and Awards Committee
6) Regional Awards Made by delegate from the candidates Chapter at the Chapters Regional Conference.
1) PERSONAL HONOURS
Ashrae Hall of Fame
Honours deceased members who have made milestone contributions to the growth of ASHRAE related technology.
F. Paul Anderson Award
Society's highest award
Honours members for notable achievement, outstanding work, or service in any field of the Society.
Louise and Bill Holladay
Distinguished Fellow Award
Honours Fellows of the Society for continuing preeminence in engineering or research work.
Fellow
ASHRAE members who have attained distinction in the fields of heating, refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation.
Andrew T. Boggs Service Award
Recognizes past recipients of the Distinguished Service Award for continuing, unselfish, dedicated and distinguished service to the Society.
ASHRAE-ALCO Medal for Distinguished Public Service
Recognizes members who have performed outstanding public service in their community
E.K. Campbell Award of Merit
Honours an individual for outstanding service and achievement in teaching.
Honorary Members
Granted to individuals in recognition of preeminent professional distinction.
2) PERSONAL AWARDS FOR GENERAL SOCIETY ACTIVITIES
Distinguished Fifty-Year Member
Award
Recognizes individuals who have been members for a minimum of 50 years who were a past Society President, a Fellow, recipient of the Distinguished Service Award, or otherwise performed outstanding service for the Society.
Exceptional Service Award
Recognizes members who have served the Society faithfully and with exemplary effort, far in excess of that required for the Distinguished Service Award.
Distinguished Service Award
Recognizes members who have served the Society faithfully and with distinction on committees or otherwise given freely of their time and talent on behalf of the Society.
3) PERSONAL AWARDS FOR SPECIFIC SOCIETY ACTIVITIES
Lincoln Bouillon
Award
Recognizes a member who performs the most outstanding work in increasing the membership of the Society.
William J Collins, Jr Research Promotion Award
Recognizes the Chapter Research Promotion Chair who excels in raising funds for ASHRAE research during the course of the year.
Homer Addams Award
Recognizes a graduate student who has been engaged in ASHRAE research project.
Ralph G. Nevins Physiology & Human
Environment Award
Recognizes and individual for significant accomplishment in the general area of man=s response to the environment.
John F. James International Award
Recognizes a member who has done the most to enhance the Society=s International presence.
Milton W. Garland
Commemorative
Refrigeration Award for Project Excellence
Recognizes the designer and owner of a non-comfort cooling refrigeration application that highlights innovation and/or new technologies.
Standards Achievement Award
Recognizes significant and exceptional service in the areas of standards leadership and standards technical contribution.
Dan Mills Technical Award
Recognizes a Chapter TEGA Chairman who excels in meeting TEGA goals in technical, energy and government activities
Student Activities Achievement Award
Recognizes a Chapter Student Activities Chairman for service related to the goals and growth of student activities at all levels.
Lou Flagg Historical Gold Ribbon Award
Recognizes the chapter Gold Ribbon Award winner for compiling information on outstanding historical projects or persons related to HVAC&R.
4) PAPER AWARDS
Crosby Field Award
For the highest rated paper presented before a technical session or symposium at a Society meeting for the year.
Willis H. Carrier Award
For the best published paper of outstanding quality presented at a Society meeting by a member of any grade who was 32 years of age or less.
Technical and Symposium Paper Award
For the best technical and symposium papers presented at a Society meeting for the year.
Journal Paper Award
For the best article published in the ASHRAE Journal for the year.
Poster Presentation Award
For the best poster from each Annual and Winter Meeting.
5) SOCIETY AWARDS TO GROUPS OR CHAPTERS
Technology Award
Recognizes, on an international scale, successful application of innovative design.
Student Design Project
Competition
Recognizes undergraduate students who have completed design projects based on the topics prescribed in the current years competition brochure.
Government Affairs Award
Recognizes a Chapter for outstanding effort and achievement in state, provincial, and local government activities.
6) REGIONAL AWARDS
Regional Award of Merit and
Chapter Service Award
Both awards recognize activities and contributions of members at the regional and chapter level
Full Circle Award
Recognizes Research Promotion leadership that Chapter Officers and Research Promotion Chairs provide to ASHRAE Research.
Gold Ribbon Award
For Chapters and Historians that accomplish certain goals to the satisfaction of the Regional Historian and Regional Director.
